ITSM (embedded)
The /itsm section embeds Beak ITSM into the Observability shell so on-call engineers can handle tickets, browse the CMDB, and run change workflows without leaving the operational view. The embedded experience mirrors the standalone ITSM product — every page, every workflow, every permission carries over.
Sections
The embedded ITSM exposes the same surfaces as the standalone product:
- CMDB — Configuration items, services, discovery, network map and analytics — see Beak ITSM → CMDB
- Tickets — Ticket queue and detail views — see Beak ITSM → Tickets
- Incidents — ITSM-style incident management — see Beak ITSM → Incidents
- Problems — Problem management — see Beak ITSM → Problems
- Changes — Change management — see Beak ITSM → Changes
- Knowledge base — Articles and solutions — see Beak ITSM → Knowledge Base
- Workflows — Workflow definitions and instances — see Beak ITSM → Workflows
- Reports and Analytics — ITSM-side reporting — see Beak ITSM → Reports & Analytics
Full Documentation
The full Beak ITSM documentation lives under /docs/beak-itsm/ — every embedded surface has a matching reference page there. The embed presents the same UI and the same permissions; the docs apply 1:1.
Note: For deep-dive guidance on any ITSM workflow, follow the section links above into the Beak ITSM docs.
Best Practices
- Use the embedded ITSM during operational triage — flipping out to the standalone product breaks flow.
- For configuration tasks (workflow editing, form builder, knowledge-base curation), open the standalone product in a separate tab — the larger viewport is easier to work with.
- Permissions are honoured uniformly — a user without ITSM permissions sees an empty surface in the embed too.
