Global Settings

The Global Settings page is the administrative hub for Beak ELM. A left-hand menu groups every configuration surface — platform defaults, data integrations, identity and access, organization structure, communications, and operational tooling — into a single workspace. Each entry below opens a dedicated settings tab; this page is the map.

Platform

Baseline platform behaviour and the tuning knobs behind the optimization engine.

  • General Settings — Login security, endpoint-inventory ingest toggles, integration status snapshot, and application info
  • Optimization Thresholds — Tune the thresholds the optimization engine uses to flag waste
  • Branding — Platform name, tagline, and login-page identity

Integrations & Connectors

The data sources that feed the license inventory.

  • Integrations — Configure CMDB (BeakITSM), Microsoft 365 (M365Lite), and FinOps sync
  • Connectors — Configure and sync the available vendor connectors
  • Software Cost Catalog — Reference unit costs used to value licenses
  • Software Classification — Schedule, enrichment source, and LLM provider behind the classification engine

Identity & Access

Who can sign in, and what they can do.

Organization

Tenant and company structure.

Communications

Outbound email configuration.

Operations

Audit and demonstration tooling.

  • Audit Log — Immutable record of configuration and data changes
  • Demo Data — Reload the curated sample dataset into the demo company

Best Practices

  • Start a new deployment under Integrations — most ELM modules degrade until at least one data source (CMDB or M365) is connected.
  • Configure SSO / OAuth and Roles & Permissions before inviting users so accounts land with the right access from the first login.
  • Treat Audit Log as the source of truth when reconciling unexpected configuration changes.
