Device Analytics
The Device Analytics page is a fleet-wide health view of every device running the BEAK SWA agent. It surfaces three KPI rollups, four pie-chart distributions, two bar-chart breakdowns of hardware capacity, and a drilldown table with the full list of devices and their current state. Use this page to monitor agent fleet health, plan hardware refreshes, and spot devices that need attention.
Filters
A filter bar lets you scope every chart and table on the page:
- Date Range — Restrict to devices reporting within the selected window.
- Department — Limit to devices assigned to one or more departments.
- Project — Filter by project assignment.
- Location — Filter by physical location.
- RAM — Filter by RAM bucket (
4 GB,8 GB,16 GB,32 GB,64 GB, orAll RAM).
A reset icon at the right edge of the filter bar clears every selection in one click. All visualizations refresh in tandem when filters change.
KPI Tiles
Three tiles summarize the device fleet at the top of the page:
- Active Devices — Devices that have reported activity within the active window
- Inactive Devices — Devices that have not reported recently
- Device Types — A short label describing the mix of device types in the fleet (e.g. "Laptop · Desktop")
CPU Core Distribution
A bar chart that groups devices by their CPU core count. Each bar represents a CPU-core bucket; the bar height shows the number of devices in that bucket. Use this view to assess whether the fleet has enough headroom for new workloads or whether older low-core devices are due for refresh.
Critical Disk Usage
A bar chart that groups devices by disk-usage severity. Each bar represents a usage bucket (e.g. devices with disk usage above 90%); the bar height shows the count. The colour is intentionally red to draw attention — devices in the highest bucket are at risk of running out of disk space.
OS Distribution
A pie chart of devices by operating system family (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.). Each slice is a discrete OS; the colour is consistent across charts to make families easy to recognize.
OS Version
A pie chart of devices by specific OS version (e.g. Windows 11 23H2, macOS 14). Use this view to spot devices behind on OS patching.
Agent Version
A pie chart of devices by BEAK SWA agent version. Use this view to confirm a rollout has propagated through the fleet — a single dominant slice means a clean rollout; a long tail of older versions means stragglers need updating.
Device Type
A pie chart of devices grouped by form factor — laptop, desktop, virtual machine, etc.
Device Drilldown
A table listing every device in the filtered set with these columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Device Name | Friendly device identifier |
| Hostname | Network hostname |
| OS | Operating system and version |
| CPU | CPU model |
| RAM | Total installed RAM |
| Disk Usage | Percent used, with a coloured progress bar (green below 70%, yellow 70–89%, red 90%+) |
| Agent Version | The BEAK SWA agent version installed on the device |
| Status | active (green dot) or inactive (red dot) |
Note: A device with disk usage in the red zone (90%+) often shows up as
inactiveshortly afterwards — log capture stalls when there is no room to write.
Best Practices
- Watch the
Critical Disk Usagechart weekly — devices in the highest bucket need either cleanup or replacement before they stop reporting. - A growing slice of older versions in the
Agent Versionchart means a rollout is incomplete — track it down before it widens. - Cross-reference the drilldown with Agent Installation when investigating reporting gaps — that page surfaces install history and last-seen timestamps.
- Pair fleet refresh planning with Self Analytics for the users on the candidate devices — high-utilization users on older hardware are the natural first targets.
