Chief of Staff is an AI-powered assistant that lives inside Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Copilot Chat. It turns conversations into action and keeps your task portfolio on track, automatically — with all tasks stored and managed in Beak Desk.

What is Chief of Staff?​

Chief of Staff eliminates the gap between communication and execution. Instead of manually copying action items from emails and chat threads into a task tracker, the assistant reads your conversations and creates structured, trackable tasks in Beak Desk — using nothing but natural language.

Quick Start Guide​

Chief of Staff requires no installation beyond having Microsoft 365 Copilot enabled in your tenant. Access it directly from Outlook, Teams, or Copilot Chat. Your IT administrator must grant the Beak Desk integration during tenant onboarding.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook, Teams, or Copilot Chat​

Chief of Staff is available as a Copilot sidebar assistant in all three surfaces. No separate app installation required.

2. Invoke the Assistant​

Click the Copilot icon in the sidebar or type a natural language request directly in the Copilot Chat pane. The assistant auto-identifies you using your Microsoft 365 identity.

3. Create Your First Task​

In Outlook, open an email thread and say "Create a task from this email." The assistant will extract the action item, requester, assignee, and deadline automatically.

4. View Your Task Portfolio​

Ask "What's on my plate today?" or "Show me overdue tasks" to get an instant summary of your active work items across all assignees.

Note: All tasks are stored and managed in Beak Desk — BEAK's enterprise task management backend. You don't need to open Beak Desk separately; the assistant handles all reads and writes via natural language.
