Device Inventory

Once a device is enrolled, it appears in the Assets inventory of the Beak console. From here, administrators can review device, software, and storage details, refresh data on demand or on a schedule, and perform remote actions such as wiping a device. The inventory can be filtered by operating system to focus on a specific platform.

Device Details Fetch

After enrollment, Beak MDM automatically retrieves comprehensive information from the enrolled device and surfaces it in the inventory.

  • Device information — Name, model, serial number, and UDID.
  • Software information — List of installed applications along with their versions.
  • Storage information — Total capacity, used space, and available space.

Note: Comprehensive device, software, and storage details are fetched automatically on iOS / iPadOS. Coverage varies on other platforms — see the Feature Matrix for per-platform support.

Filtering by Operating System

The Assets inventory can be filtered by operating system so administrators can review devices for a single platform — for example, selecting iOS to list only enrolled iOS / iPadOS endpoints.

Device Sync

Device data shown in the console can be refreshed so the inventory reflects the current state of each endpoint.

  • Manual Sync — Administrators trigger an on-demand refresh of console device data.
  • Auto Sync — Device data is refreshed automatically at scheduled intervals, with no manual action required.

Note: Manual and automatic sync are available on iOS / iPadOS and macOS.

Wipe Device

Administrators can remotely wipe an enrolled device, restoring it to factory settings. On iOS / iPadOS, the wipe command is delivered through the Apple Push Notification Service (APNs).

Important: A device wipe is irreversible and removes all data, returning the device to factory settings. Confirm the correct device is selected before issuing the command.

History & Logs

Administrative actions taken against inventory devices are recorded for traceability.

  • Policy Execution History — Timestamp, policy name, target devices, and execution status.
  • User Activity History — Sync requests, configuration-profile uploads, approvals, executions, and more.

Best Practices

  • Sync before acting — Run a manual sync before reviewing details or issuing remote actions so decisions are based on current data.
  • Use OS filters for scale — Filter the inventory by operating system when managing large fleets to reduce noise.
  • Double-check before a wipe — Verify device identity (serial number / UDID) before issuing an irreversible wipe.

  • Device Enrollment — Enroll devices so they appear in the inventory
  • Policies — Apply configuration policies to inventory devices
  • Feature Matrix — Per-platform support for details, sync, and wipe
