Auto Patch Deploy with Rollback

BEAK Security automates the entire patch lifecycle — from testing through deployment to verification — with built-in rollback to safely handle failed patches.

Deployment Pipeline

1. Patch Testing

  • Automatically test patches in a sandbox environment
  • Validate against application compatibility matrices
  • Run pre-deployment health checks on target systems

2. Staged Rollout

  • Deploy to a pilot group first (configurable percentage)
  • Monitor pilot systems for defined observation period
  • Automatically proceed or halt based on success criteria

3. Full Deployment

  • Deploy to remaining systems in configurable waves
  • Respect maintenance windows per asset group
  • Bandwidth throttling to minimize network impact

4. Post-Deployment Verification

  • Run automated health checks after patch application
  • Verify patch is correctly installed and active
  • Confirm vulnerability remediation via rescan

Rollback

Automatic Rollback Triggers

  • System fails health check post-patch
  • Application compatibility issue detected
  • System stability metrics degrade beyond threshold
  • Manual rollback triggered by administrator

Rollback Process

  1. Snapshot taken before patch application
  2. Issue detected by health monitoring
  3. Automatic rollback to pre-patch state
  4. Administrator notified with failure details
  5. Patch flagged for review before retry

Scheduling

  • Define maintenance windows per asset group
  • Emergency patching override for critical vulnerabilities
  • Exclude specific assets or groups from auto-patching
  • Blackout periods for change freezes
