M365 Utilization Scoring
BEAK Governance provides per-user utilization scoring for Microsoft 365 to measure actual usage against assigned licenses and identify optimization opportunities.
How Scoring Works
Each user receives a utilization score (0-100) based on their actual usage of assigned M365 services:
Scoring Dimensions
- Email (Exchange Online) — Emails sent/received, mailbox activity, calendar usage
- Collaboration (Teams) — Meetings attended, messages sent, calls made
- Productivity (Office Apps) — Document creation/editing in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Storage (OneDrive/SharePoint) — Files stored, shared, and accessed
- Security (Defender/Compliance) — Feature adoption and policy compliance
Score Tiers
| Score Range | Classification | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 80-100 | High utilization | No action needed |
| 50-79 | Moderate utilization | Review for potential downgrade |
| 20-49 | Low utilization | Candidate for license downgrade |
| 0-19 | Dormant | Candidate for license reclamation |
